At this year’s edition of the European Development Days, organised by the European Commission, the ACP Secretariat will have a stand to showcase the services provided by the Climate Support Facility (CSF) and the actions implemented to promote South-South cooperation. The theme of the stand is African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States - Stronger together / South-South and triangular cooperation to achieve sustainable development, reduce inequality and vulnerability due to climate change”.
Meet the expert
This stand will be a meeting place where conversations with current and potential stakeholders will be facilitated. As such, there will be a continuous steam of online information about ACP activities, gathered from partners, featuring success stories and individual interviews.
Discussions will also be facilitated on thematic issues to generate further action related to the themes of the stand.
This year, the Key Experts of the Intra-ACP GCCA+ Programme will meet with participants to provide information about the technical assistance provided to African, Caribbean and Pacific countries to tackle climate change.
In line with the European Development Days’ aim to involve the audience in the discussion, national stakeholders benefitting from the technical support of the Programme will remotely connect from their countries for live interviews and to answer possible questions coming from the audience. Côte d’Ivoire, Benin and Namibia will explain the projects implemented t with the support of the Programme’s Climate Support Facility, giving testimonials of what has been achieved so far. EDD LAB DEBATE: Climate change inequality: Reducing vulnerability of ACP countries
The debate will provide a space to discuss the importance of addressing inequality in order to contribute to the fight against climate change in ACP countries, particularly in (Small Islands Developping States) SIDs, (Least Developped Countires) LDCs and Land-locked countries.
