The impacts of climate change can be easily observed
and experienced in Seychelles. These impacts include
the following:
- Warmer air temperatures
- Warming of the ocean, coral bleaching, and
- ocean acidification
- Sea level rise and coastal erosion
- Storms & storm surges
- Changes in rainfall patterns, with very dry periods
- and water shortages, and very wet periods with
- flooding and landslides
- Changes in disease vectors
- Damage to critical infrastructure, particularly in
- the coastal zone
- Decreased food and water security
- Increased pollution, run off and soil erosion
- Changes to biodiversity
