Fridays for Climate | Central American Dry Corridor

Fridays for Climate | Central American Dry Corridor

Nearly a decade of drought in the Central American Dry Corridor has not only fueled
poverty and hunger, but is also one of the main drivers of migration.

The European Union’s DeSIRA programme has put €6 million into
the two-year AgroInnova project, which aims to help farmers
to become more resilient to the devastating impacts of climate change.

The project combines agroforestry with crop diversification,
thanks to practical demonstrations and exercises.

“Today these systems represent a real option for the dry corridor"
explains Cecilia Guerra, a postgraduate student from Costa Rica. 🌾
