Fridays for Climate | The vitality of agriculture's climate resilience in Suriname

In Suriname, climate resilience is vital for the economy. 🌍 The extreme weather conditions damage crops notably during the rainy season which has intense rain. It floods some farms and farmers might lose their entire harvest.

The EU GCCA+ climate smart agriculture project aims to protect crops with the use of greenhouses and irrigation systems. 🌱

“The biggest benefit is that crops are protected against climate change, extreme temperatures, extreme sunlight and extreme rainfall.”
-  Diego Rodriguez, farmer.
