It started with the installation of a system for capturing water from fog on the East Plateau of Cape Verde, and it continued with the creation of three experimental field with crops of different species, as well as a nursery created in Casa do Meio where different types of seeds are being planted.
The project on Agroforestry systems in Santo Antão in Cape Verde has now entered its second phase, in which trainings in holistic management and animal nutrition are some of the activities planned. In this second phase, the project also intends to carry out experiments with hydrogels and tests for the production of feed.
The project on agroforestry systems is being implemented by the Association for the Defense of Heritage of Mértola (Portugal), is implemented by Expertise France, under the political and institutional leadership of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). It is an initiative of the GCCA+ West Africa project, financed by the European Union.
